MY SAILING HOME

Our Story

This project was born during a season when my husband was away on a mission trip in Sabah. I was home alone caring for our baby; feeling tired, lonely, and at times overwhelmed.

But in that quiet place, God met me.

That night, I listened to the testimony of The Heavenly Man, Brother Yun, a missionary in China who faced persecution and was in and out of prison for preaching the gospel. He told his young son:

“My son, I’m so sorry that I’m a very bad father, but one thing you must always remember; you have a perfect Father in Heaven. This Father, He is 100 million times better than any human Father could ever be. This Heavenly Father will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5) and He will always carry you through. He is the beginner and the finisher of your life and He will complete the Holy work He has started in you. You must value the Word of God. Write the Word of God in your heart. There may be a day when demons or governments take everything away from you, but make sure you have something in your life that no one can take away. Let God’s Word live inside you because this will stay with you to eternity.”

Those words went straight into my heart. In that moment, God reminded me: “I will not always be with my child. But He will be. Forever.” It also reminded me how important God’s Word is in our lives, and the parents’ responsibility to nurture our children in it. This became the heartbeat behind these flashcards.

Why These Flashcards Were Created

They were created to gently plant Scripture into little hearts while they are young, so when life becomes hard, God’s truth will remain rooted inside them. That whisper from God became the heartbeat of these flashcards. I created them so my little one can carry Scripture in her heart, and I pray they will bless many other children too.

The Mission Impossible Became Possible

This journey is also a testimony of God’s grace. Before this, the best drawing I could draw was a stick figure and some heart shapes. It was a very steep learning curve and step by step, God made a way. Through every challenge, this verse carried me:

“It is not by might, nor by power, but by the Spirit of God.” (Zechariah 4:6)

This was the verse that constantly reminded me and carried me through all projects. All glory to Him.
